Smart Araneta Coliseum: The heat is on @TheBigDome on its full swing Extreme Transformation

Just like the Miami Heat, the Smart Araneta Coliseum, more popularly known as the Big Dome, is on a roll.

The recent launching of its Grand Atrium is just one significant part of a whole Extreme Transformation that is continuing to revolutionize the concept of entertainment and retail in the country. In a leadership seminar, Spoelstra reveled that he deliberately junked the media-created moniker of “The Big Three,” referring to players LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade, and instead focused on motivating and improving the entire Miami Heat basketball team.

In much the same way, the Araneta Group has embarked on a comprehensive redevelopment plan that is changing the entire skyline of Quezon City as well as enhancing the population’s lifestyle.

Exciting times: A new look and a new spirit is coming to the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

This Extreme Transformation includes the rise of the 31-storey Gateway Tower right beside the award-winning Gateway Mall, the 400-room deluxe Novotel Manila Araneta Center, and an impressive residential condominium called Manhattan Garden City, comprising a total of 18 residential buildings.

Extreme changes: A new parking building will feature 2,000 slots with a direct link to the Coliseum.

The opening of the Grand Atrium is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg of more exciting changes. New, more comfortable seats to complement already perfect sightlines. Newly redesigned lobbies will open up to a concourse that offer premium food and beverage options. A museum wall of sports to educate and inspire Coliseum patrons. New drop-off points and access to the Big Dome from a brand new 8-level parking building.

Enhanced experience: Coliseum patrons will rediscover a state-of-the-art venue that’s as unforgettable as the moments that happen there.

The Big Dome is the acknowledged leader for over fifty years. In fact, its success has inspired others to share its vision, a reality that has spurred more improvements. NBA champion coach Erik Spoelstra articulated an insight that may well be in the minds of the movers behind the Big Dome’s ongoing Extreme Transformation: “Sometimes, leadership sucks, but there is nowhere else I would rather be.”
