Whats up on Philippine ToyCon 2012?

It’s a celebration this June 15,16 & 1, enjoy the festivities at the Philippine Toycon 2012! It will be definitely Fun! Fun! Fun! For everybody who is excited to attend this big yearly event that just started with a couple of friends who have the passion in collecting toys since 2002.

This year’s movie theme is the anticipated movie from Warner Brothers and DC Comics “The Dark Knight Rises”. It’s the final installment of the Batman saga with Christopher Nolan’s ultimate chapter in the Dark Knight Trilogy. Warner brothers launches excitement for the movie with a n exhibit of original movie props and costumes and DC Comics launches its new line of Dark Knight related merchandise, apparel and toys. Other movies like The Bourne Legacy, Rise of the Guardians and The Hobbit will also be featured.

Also in anticipation of the upcoming GI Joe: Retaliation movie and th e30th anniversary of GI Joe action figures, members of the Philippine Toy Soldiers 118 will put together the biggest GI Joe Action figure diorama play set in the Megatrade Hall 2.

So what else to expect this year at the ToyCon?

DAY 1

The 11^th Philippine TOYCON 2012 opens its gate on Friday, June 15, with a special retailers day were collectors can already start buying their favorite toy collection pieces.

DAY 2

Gates will be open at 1000am, at 11:00 there will be a panel discussion featuring different collectors with their collections. There will be a Film Showing at 12 nn that will showcase different Fan Films and continue to a panel discussion about Customizing Transformers. At around 2 in the afternoon the Amped Fest will start. 4pm to 6pm will be the main highlight of the day, which will be the Cosplay Universe – Individual Competition

DAY 3

Day 3 will have the same sets of activities with the Day two. We will be having panel Discussion featuring collectors and their collections. Film Showing of different Fan Films, at 12 nn there will be a panel discussion on how to be a Cosplayer, The Dark Knight Rises panel discussion at 1pm brought to us by Warner Brothers and DC Comics, AmPed Fest at 2pm. And the main highlight of the event is the Cosplay Universe-Group Competition.

There will be raffles from sponsors every hour, games and band performances and other activities in between. A live auction will also be held on very special selected items, if you are an avid collector be there on the day of the auction.

There will be also interactive booths highlights, which include The Anime Planet, Superhero Stars, Movie Nebula, Toy Supernova, Gaming Galaxy and Kids Constellation.

AMPED Fest 2012 eyes on a huge comeback this year with lots of new games to launch, they promise to give an intensified online gaming experience to toycon participants with the launch of the fantasy MMOPRG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) ‘Relic of Mystra’ and the version 4 patches of AMPED’s flagship brands ‘Shaiya’ and ‘Warrock’. AMPED will also unveil its new gaming roster for 2012 and the Android and Java mobile gaming portal.

This year will be much crazier than ever! Tickets are sold for P100 only (good for 1 day pass) and good news peeps you can already avail tickets all over the Philippines thru SM ticketnet outlets.

Lots of bands will be there which includes the Kamikazee Band that announces to shoot a music video on the day of the event. So better be prepared and be on your best CosPlay style on those dates!

Cosplay Competition limit is 150 contestants only and will be cut off 2-hours before the competition, there will be 2 International CosPlayer judges with off course the CosPlay Queen Ms. Alodia Gosiengfiao who will determine the winners of the contest.

The grand winner in the Cosplay Compettion will be featured and will have a stint in HERO TV. Nice! That will be a good break for the grand winners!

The 11^th Philippine TOYCON 2012 opens its gate on Friday, June 15 and continues on through Fathers day weekend on June 16 ad 17 from 10:00am to 9:00 pm at the Megatrade halls 1 to 3, 5^th level of the SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
