The journey continues … rising above all the tragedies and tribulations … it’s time to give it back – Doc Rommel, manager of Gerald Santos explain to the team before opening the gates of PETA theater last Friday, May 18, 2012.
I was one of the lucky persons to be part of the team. I was assigned to do the voice over which i did a little timid at first. But I think I did better as the event goes on.
4pm was the call time for the rehearsal, Im early enough to attend and witness the dry-run of the concert to be held later that night.
The “Isang Pasasalamat Birthday Concert”, started with a pseudo opening, with a short narration of Gerald Santos struggles and how he overcome difficulties in the past years of his career. It was then followed by a very momentous song “This is the moment.”
The introduction song was great and was followed by an upbeat number with “One Direction” medley which includes “One thing” and “What makes you beautiful”.
Two revival song was performed entitled “Ikaw Lamang” and “Hindi Magbabago” which will also be included in his soon to be released all revival song album.
Another favorite medley songs from the American Mainstream rock band Boyce Avenue.
For the 2nd half of the performance, it opened with a danceble hits from Mr. Pure Energy “Gary V.’s “Shout for Joy”
To entertain more all his fans and followers, A medley music from the current Pop hits was performed in his own style and rendition.
One of the highlights of the concert was with a guess performer, a duet from his manager Doc Rommel Ramilo. The song “Could You be His Messiah” was tearfully performed, it was an original originally sung by Michael W. Smith with words written by Deborah D Smith, and revive by Gary V. It was said that it was the first time they will be doing a duet of this song. “Could You be His Messiah” was perfectly suited to define their triump as a team in attaining their goals thru the help of God.
The lighter part of the concert was started with an Impersonation made by Gerald to some popular Pinoy singers.
A tribute to the American recording artist, actress, producer, and model Whitney Houston was also performed with a medley of some of her hits. The Concert will not be finished without Gerald performing his own top charting hits.
The concert ended with a song from the British-Irish boy band “The Wanted”, “Glad you Came”.
The “Isang Pasasalamat” Birthday Concert was there way of thanking God for all the blessings they have receive and giving it back to all the fans and followers who supported them throughout their journey. 🙂
