A new breakthrough in malling experience has come to Manila and it’s expected to flutter around the metro! The craze for catching butterflies is already here!
Last May 5,2012, SM Supermalls launch the use of this unique check-in style application called iButterfly.
iButterfly is a free app you can download for your iphone or android phone. With the concept of “Coupon Entertainment” and a combination of Motion Sensor, GPS and Augmented Reality it imposes digital butterflies in the user’s display.
It’s an engaging new experience for smartphone users that uses GPS (Global Positioning System) to know where you are located. But as of now, catching butterflies can only be done in the following SM malls (SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Cebu, SM Davao, SM Southmall, SM Fairview, SM Baguio)
But wait! This is not just an ordinary game, because catching butterflies is just the start of the fun! Each butterfly is gorgeously designed with special offers and even exciting surprises. Caught Butterflies become coupons that may be redeemed at participating stores such as Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, Forever 21, Max’s, Yellow Cab, David’s Salon, Quantum, Kenny Rogers, Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, Red Ribbon, Greenwich, BDO, McDonald’s and SM Department Store!
Here’s all you have to do to start turning iButterflies into instant prizes:
- Download the application (iButterfly Asia) online via your iOS or Android phone. It’s the blue icon butterfly, to make sure you could visit http://smibutterfly.com
- Visit SM Supermalls and Catch iButterflies while connected to the internet. Just seach around, swipe or tap and collect!
- Redeem prizes by presenting iButterflies at participating stores.
The experience was amazing and at the recent launch of iButterfly in SM the Block, Bloggers, Artists and mallrats are already busy catching and creating their own ibuttefly collections.
The event was hosted by Mr. Raymond Guttierez and I myself had a chance to be interviewed on stage, by joining and answering one of their games. I did won a Timex watched!
The event was star-studded lead by the Magalona family.
Bogart “The explorer” with his aussie accent was also spotted at the event teaching shoppers how to catch a digital creature called the iButterfly.
Callum David was also in the house filling the place with good music.
