“Let’s be healthy and fit through the most cheapest sports called running” – Celebrity Runner Bearwin Meily emphasizes as he lead the “I Run & Walk for the Kids” Fun Run held last March 31, 2012, Saturday in Brookside Hills Gate 3, Oval Park Cainta Metro Manila
5 o’ clock in the morning was the assembly time of the run. We came a bit early along with some of the employees of UNTV 37 and photographers from Photoville International. We started with a short stretching which plays a big part to prevent injuries in the run.
Booths of Sponsors and other who help in the success of the event can be also be found surrounding the Brookside Oval. I got a chance to buy 2 shorts from Diadora for a special price of 250 Pesos each, in malls its a bit pricy costing 800 pesos each, he he he i’m just happy I bought some.
As early as 5:30 am, Bearwin announces that the registration for the run was already sold out, yet runners who wanted to join the Fun Run can still register for the purpose of not just enjoying the run but also by helping some of the projects produce by Batang Gala Foundation, which is being supported by the said fun run.
10 minutes before 6am, runners for 6k line up at the starting line. As the gun starts! runners felt the fun and excitement to finish the race.
Runners get to choose to run for 3K or 6K, 2 HYDRATION STATIONS serving 100 Plus and Summit Natural Drinking Water can be found every 1.5 kms.
10 minutes after the 6K runners, Gun Start was fired for the 3K runners.
We are actually expecting that the weather will be a bit rainy, but luckily, Thank God the weather was great and it only rained a few hours after the race. Here are some of the moments in the run.
The event was organized by RUNtarantantan in partnership with UNO. Some of the proceeds will help the projects of Batang Gala Foundation. I finished the 6k run for about 33 minutes. It was a great run, I guess I did much better than the last Fun Run.
Some of the guest celebrities who join the run includes Gerald Pizarras, Jan Marini, and Jeffrey Santos. After the run, the most awaited part by many was held, the raffle draw! Most wanted item includes a pair of Vibram Speed and Rudy Projects eyewear.
To entertain everybody, a juggling act and mind reading was enjoyed by the audience specially by the kids!
