The Story behind the name “Nognog”

Today is the day after my 30th birthday. Thank you to all who sent their BDAY greetings as well as to those who thought about it but hesitated. Don’t worry, I understand. Lol!

Crazy-Geeky BDay Pic!

And as a gift for myself, I decided to create my own Blog (Yehey!). Was thinking about how I should call it few weeks ago, but finally I decided to named it as “Nognog in the City” hmm … Why? Nope, I wasn’t inspired from Jessica Parker’s TV Series, this is just a coincidence perhaps and besides “in the city” is quite a catchy phrase.

I was named by my lovely parents as Rodelio Pasquito Flordeliz, I grew up a bit darker than my siblings. When I was young my Mom use to call me “Nognog“. It’s a word  came from the Filipino word “Sunog” which in English means “Burn” and burnt items usually turns into black, in relation to my skin color.

I was the boy with the X-mark. (Di naman ako masyadong maitim diba? hehehe) Section A, Grade 1, Tugatog Elementary School Class 1988-1989.

To cut the life story short, until now my Mom still calls me ‘Nognog’ specially when she is angry even though my complexion have already change (a bit).

Hope I would enjoy blogging. Would love to share every wonderful moment I’ll be having,  every person I will be meeting, every places I will uncover, every moments of my life worth sharing and every lessons I would learn to this journey called LIFE!
