Never really thought of investing a nice luggage before not until I had my first ever out of the country flight. It was a month-long trip from Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I realised then that the frequent transfer and mobility would really require a sturdy and durable luggage.
Nowadays, I make it a point that whenever I’ll be getting a new one, it should be a luggage that could last for a lifetime, an investment I should get.
A few days ago, I was invited over at the launch of the very first branch of Zero Halliburton in the Philippines. I never heard the brand before but to what I’ve learned, this global luggage brand has an incredible 80-year history already, with finely engineered designs and a proven track record of protecting one’s valuables.
Did I mentioned that it was the only luggage to travel to the moon and back?!
I didn’t believe it at first but I was surprised to know that it was real when they showed us some footages of that eventful day. Zero Halliburton cases formally became part of history when no less than Apollo 11 astronauts Edwin Eugene “Buzz” Aldrin, Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong took it to the moon and back.
Zero Halliburton’s first landing in the Philippines is at S Maison at Conrad Manila. And on its opening, Zero Halliburton introduces the iconic aluminum briefcase that stored rock and soil samples from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Apollo 11 lunar mission back in 1969. The luggage brand also unveils its lightweight aluminum and polycarbonate luggage and, soon, in Greenwich Collection – Zero Halliburton’s lightweight Condura nylon luggage with built-in smart features such as moisture wick material and padded design.
Originally designed by aerospace engineers, Zero Halliburton cases have grown into a widely loved travel brand in the world. It’s functionality; durability and sleek design make it a top choice in cosmopolitan centers including Tokyo and New York.
It’s impressive build and aesthetic has evolved into a symbol of sophistication that over 300 films and television series has featured Zero Halliburton. Today, it is one of the most recognisable luggages on screen.
Aside from the luggages, the premium brand also extended its line to wheeled business bags, pilot cases, backpacks, and duffel bags. New materials and designs give traction to Zero Halliburton’s reach in the global tarmac.
One of the luggages I checked costs Php 40,000.00 (US$ 800), another one was displayed with a signature on top. I was told that the Brazilian football superstar Ronaldinho of FC Barcelona signed this golden-colored case. He is a notable patron and brand endorser of the brand.
Here is another trivia; did you know that the founder Erie Halliburton, an oil field engineer, developed this famed luggage just to suit his needs. It was then when he realizes that he needed a durable piece of luggage for his grueling travels across the rough Texas terrain, he and a team of engineers designed the world’s first aluminum travel case.
