March 06,2016, Manila, Philippines: It was 4am in the morning when I receive a wake up call coming from Ruth. I was late to our 4:30 am call time at SM Mall of Asia concert grounds. It was 4:45 am when I arrived and readied myself for the Color Manila Run x Sun Warriors event.
Before the run, a warmup sessions was conducted and Watsons performed a tutorial on how to properly protect our skin against UV rays specially that we are about to run under the sun. Ruth was still missing on this hour.
The gunfire for the 5km run started at 5:10 am, Ruth arrive 15 minutes after, so after changing outfits, we hurriedly run towards the track and join the 4th wave of runners.
It was Ruth’s baptism to running (Check out her posts here) while I got a handful a long time ago. But Color Manila Run is something new to me for it’s unique way of making the fun run literally colorful. You’ll see what happen just continue reading.
Each Kilometer comes an obstacle you should pass. Along with it was a coloured powder being thrown to all the runners. I was hesitant at first to do the obstacles, but realised that I should just enjoy it and go with it! It will not be called a color run if you wouldn’t be covered in color right after. Right?
This is really a #funrun!!! #colormanilarun #sunwarriorchallenge @watsonsph

We finished the run less than an hour. And right after, when we are about to take off the colored powder in our body, we heard the announcer at the stage saying that the fun was just starting. So we hurriedly went back to the crowd and this happens . . .
It was fun! I didn’t really expected it but right after I say, I would definitely do this again! Thank you #SparkIt ands Watson! We are now officially Sun Warriors!
For first timers, remember: Have enough sleep, do not eat heavy snacks before the run, drink plenty of liquids and don’t forget to do some stretching.
In removing Colored Powder (Color Manila Run)?
Dust off the powder in your hair and do not attempt to wash it with water for it will “bleed”. You can use wet wipes or oil/makeup remover to remove the color from your skin. When you get home don’t forget to take a bath.
See you on the next track!
