A few days already have pass but I can still feel my awkwardness and my unbelievable moment at the stage of Smart Araneta where almost thousands of people are watching, listening to the announcement you are about to tell. It was unbelievable and awesomely amazing! I woke up and I still can’t believe the night just happened.
I ‘ve been with the station for a year already and resigned recently for some major reasons. I love doing the radio and I enjoyed my 1 year stay. If I will be given a chance again, I would definitely do it again. It’s not really a bad breakup between me and the radio station, that is why I was happy when I was told that i’ll be one of the presenters of the grandiose event.

A few days before the Wish Music Awards
I know that I will be part of the program, but still wasn’t really sure what in particular I’ll be doing. I was just told that I’ll be presenting at the event a few days before it happened. So after learning about it, I texted my friend and asked if I could pull-out a set of clothes that I could use at the awards night. I was super lucky that the Filipino Fashion designer Nat Manilag lend me a set! Did I just mention Nat Manilag? Whoa!!!
Before the Event …
I was late for our 4pm rehearsal. I came in at Smart Araneta around 5pm, and all the radio jocks are complete and already been brief on what to do on the stage. Good thing, I still able to rehearse everything. I will be paired with one of the judges, Ms. Sylvia Lichauco-de Leon, the current President of the Philippine Ballet Theater. By the way, all the radio jocks are complete – Me (as Flynn Ryder), Faye, Jelly Kiss, Alice, Princess Leigh and Ray Holiday.

6pm, time to Prep!
After getting my script and had my make-up done at Room#4. I stayed at the next room. I’ll be sharing room with Jason Dy, Darren Espanto, Paolo Onesa, Marlo Mortel, Brad Go and JK Labajo, I felt that I’m the senior in this room! Brad Go was the only person I personally know in the Room. Well of course I introduce myself to the others right after.
By the way, to all those who still doesn’t know, I was once a Radio Jock at Wish 107.5 with my program called “Moonlight Wishes” aired everyday form 12mn to 5am. I was called Flynn Ryder.

After our Red Carpet walked. The guys just hangout at the make-up room and jam! Paolo was the one who plays the guitar, which is owned by Brad. While Marlo sung most of the songs. JK wasn’t able to relate to some for we are mostly singing songs from the 90’s! Here’s some video inside the room.
This is it! The Wish 107.5 Wish Music Awards
The event started a few minutes after Darren Espanto came in, Darren along with JK, Jek, the Voysing and Sasa will be performing first. All the jocks and judges were seated at the left side of the stage. My friend, Timmy Pavino, also attended the event and seated was with us. The event was hosted by Gretchen Ho and Robbie Domingo, they look like love birds playing in the middle of the crowd, throwing sweet lines to each other. They did a great job hosting!

Faye was first up on the stage to deliver the first batch of winners, then I came in second. Both I and Tita Sylvia delivered three awards and I firs felt awkward about my lines! Hahaha! There was also some glitches that happened on my part wherein the prompter appeared to be different from the actual award we are giving, this is actually the perfect situation wherein I can say “I can feel the pressure right now!” Tita Sylvia, I think, repeated one of the spiels. Oh well this is live event! Good thing we didn’t make any mistakes in announcing the winners. Woah! I hope we didn’t look like fools at the stage, but a friend of mine told me, We did great! But still, I wanted to see the record!

It was a once in a lifetime thing that I would be able to be a presenter in a big event wherein different types of people are watching (including my bosses). Being in the stage with thousands of people in front of you was a mix feeling of excitement and fear that you would make a mistake. But thank God, I did it! We did it! And I would love to do it again!
It was an amazing event and a successful one! I also was able to meet my listeners and mingle with the wishers who attended the event. I bet next year would be more grandiose!
