A quick visit at Cafe by the Ruins Dua

On my recent trip to Baguio City (via Azalea Residences), we deceide to visit the famous Cafe by the Ruins, inspired from the movie “That thing called Tadhana,” my group mates were too eager to recreate or to visit some of the scenes of the movie.

that thing called tadhana

Cafe by the Ruins Dua is the first branch of  Cafe by the Ruins. Located at the Upper Session Road besides Mario‘s Baguio, one wouldn’t need to brave the terrible traffic all the way to the centre of Baguio to enjoy this breakfast place.

I haven’t visited the first branch, but to what i’ve seen in pictures, both have wooden interiors, but Cafe by the Ruins Dua is a mix of quaint and modern-hip with a gallery hanging on the walls.

The place could be perfect for dating and for light talks, with its yellow lighting at night, cozy interiors and easy listening music, plus the cool climates of Baguio, you’ll definitely have a greater chance of getting a “Yes” at the end of your conversation. 🙂

The menu are simple and to what I was told not all from the old branch’s menu were carried over to this branch.

I ordered their specially coffee and Cinnamon bread, but was a bit disappointed for a slow food service. The coffee got a nice aromatic scent with a kick of ginger. Thou wasn’t really amaze with how the bread (I ordered) tasted. Maybe on my next visit, I’ll try the other offerings.
