The Northern Food Festival kicks off last friday (October 17, 2014) with fireworks, marching band, street dancing and serving of the largest plate of sizzling sisig in the country.
One of the highlights of the event is the cook up of the iconic Kapampangan dish at the opening ceremony. With an 11-feet in diameter sizzling plate, this serving of Sisig promises to be the largest one ever cooked up in the province. The Giant Sisig was cooked by popular Chefs like Chef Sau Del Rosario, Chef Jam Melchor, Chef Bong Sagmit and the HRM Students of Systems Plus College Foundations headed by Dean Rennier Perez.

The Giant Sisig is composed of 60kgs of Chicken Liver mixed with 225 kgs of pigs ear and face, 5 sacks of onions, 2 sacks of calamansi, 5 gallons of Soy Sauce and 10 kilos of Siling Labuyo.
Aside from the sisig, enthusiastic foodies can also enjoy the 128 homegrown food merchants coming from Region 1, Region II, Region III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region with products on sale at the Big Bite Food Market.
Live cooking demos demonstrating the culinary mastery of celebrity chefs will be held on each day of the festival.

- Oct. 19, 2014 Chef Sandy Daza of Foodprints and Pampanga culinary Atching Lilian Borromeo
Food art installations created by award-winning visual artist Leeroy New, in collaboration with pastry artist Milai Rodrigo, as well as the Pampanga Arts Guild, are also on display in a food art gallery.

Bigbite! the Northern Food Festival is from October 17-19 2014. The event is held in partnership with the Department of Tourism, DTI, Angeles Tourism Office, North luzon Expressway Bank of the Philippine Islands and the Lifestyle Network.
