Run, Jump, Swim, Play or simply leave everything behind, relax and have the ultimate R&R at Gratchi’s Getaway. Located in Tagaytay, Gratchi’s Getaway is a 6-hectare stretch of natural landscape conveniently situated five minutes from Tagaytay-Calamba Road.
It was my second time visiting the place, and being a long-time friend of Tita Gratchi Nuval, my enthusiasm had made me even more excited when the 2nd trip back was scheduled. After almost 2 years, Will be seeing how differently things look like now. Plus I could be able now to try everything.
On a Friday morning, me with couple of blogger friends, Jeman, Richard, Rod Magaru, Cristelle and Rey hit the road to Tagaytay. It was a short drive about an hour and half coming from Manila, and early breakfast is already prepared on our arrival. (Check out my Unplanned Tagaytay Trip here)
Special thanks to Francis Magalona Clothing Company for our Tees!
Everyone is looking forward of tasting this cold Tarragon Tea!
Blessed with a wide range of natural features, Gratchi’s Getaway farm resort is a perfect venue for events, conferences, seminars, team building activities, educational tours, workshops, or simply for leisure, relaxation and wellness. We will be doing both this time, I guess. Will see.
We were accommodated inside a big place called the Ruins. The room is perfect for a group 20 and up and because we are just six, we have the privilege to own a room each that can accommodate 4 persons.
Now its time to start the activities for today.
Mushroom Farm
Gratchi’s Kare-Kare Mushroom, Sisig Mushroom and Crispy Fried Mushroom are just some of the popular dish you could taste at this farm. Aside from the fun activities, Gratchi’s Getaway has been known for their mushroom dishes and mushroom agriculture. We had a glimpse and a walked through how the harvesting is done.
Mushroom grows easily and are usually harvested just a few weeks after spawning. After the first crop is picked, further crops occur every week or so (which are called flushes). After a month or two, the flushes decline and the compost should be discarded and the whole process should be started again.
Let’s go Fishing!
Next we go fishing. My last fishing activity was way back in my elementary years on our very own backyard, I miss fishing so much. and I think I did good by catching 4 Tilapias in just a few minutes of the activity. You can pay and cook the ones you captured or you can just return it back to the pond if you don’t have the appetite to eat fish at the moment.
Nature Trail & ATV ride
Aside from strolling around the area, you can also try the ATV ride to have that mountain adventurous feel. Imagine yourself riding in an ATV while making your way in that rocky, bumpy woodlot place. (Php 400 per 30 minutes per ATV)
River Trekking
Another great activity you shouldn’t miss is the river trekking that can be found down at the edge of the farm. It’s an hour of thrilling round trip trek down while you marvel on the untouched forest surrounding the clean river. It’s a great challenge for nature lovers and with the addition of the ropes to guide trekkers, the activity became more safer for first timers.
We reach the river, with the hopes to jump off at the end of the trail and be tagged as one of the so called River Rock Survivor.
But unfortunately because its low tide, that didn’t happen. Nevertheless we did had a great time.
A few minutes on our way back, The rain started to pour, making me run up as fast as I could, just to save my camera for being totally wet. (P150 per person. Minimum of 5 persons)
Adrenaline rush, I could say.
Hotdogs, Marshmallows & Bonfire
We also had the chance to experience hotdogs and marshmallows on stick cooked in a bonfire.
Dinner & Videoke Nights
Capping the night with a wonderful dinner at the Bulwagan (place where you can view 360 degree of the whole place) and a chance to finally meet again Tita Gratchi Nuval. She prepared signature dishes for us specially serve st Gratchi’s.
Gratchi’s Sisig Mushroom (Php 200)
Grilled Fish
With Rodel Flordeliz, Rod Magaru, Gratchi Nuval, Jeman Villanueva, Richard Mamayuc, Cristelle Torres, & Rey Belen.
