“He who has a bow.” – Kodanda Archery Range

Target spotted … draws the arrow … stretches the bowstring and bam! Bullseye!

Then I turn off the TV and realize, that could be me, maybe someday, with constant practice, Archery could probably be my thing.

It is safe to say that archery gained worldwide popularity in recent years thanks to Hollywood blockbusters like the Lord of the Rings (Legolas and the Elves) and more recently The Hunger Games (Katniss Everdeen), the Avengers (Hawkeye), Disney’s animated feature Brave (Princess Merida), and popular US television shows Arrow and The Walking Dead.  A group of friends saw this increasing interest as well as the lack of facility where one can learn the sport. Thus the Kodanda Archery Range was created.

Me and friends had a chance to enjoy and try archery through Kodanda Archery Range. Kodanda is a seven-lane, fully air-conditioned indoor archery range located on the upper basement of Makati Cinema Square along Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo) in Makati City. Opened July 5 of 2013, Kodanda Archery Range was founded to provide an avenue for people who are interested to try out archery, without having to spend a small fortune. It is open to all interested individuals with the minimum age being seven years old.

Being a first timer in the sport, I found out that drawing the bowstring stresses mostly the arms, chest, shoulders and back, which i think with repetition would probably gave me the strenght on my upper body and arm.

Look at that face! Competitive!

The game was a bit addicting specially if your hitting the target or nearly. Though a bit tiring, archery can also help improve posture, balance and hand-eye coordination.

Look who’s enjoying the game … (visit Reg’s blog www.futuremanila.com)

You can try archery with Php 550 per person/hour or Php6,000.00 for ten (10) sessions. Affordable compared to other Archery Range rental this includes the use of international-standard equipment and protective gear, and coaching on archery basics from expert instructors.

This is definitely Reg’s, mine was better … (#teehee)

If you felt like this could be your career path, try investing on buying equipments and accessories which can also be done on the Archery Shop located inside the range.

Try Archery! Its definitely something fun! You can contact Kodanda Archery Range through contact numbers (02)621.9109 and (0932)843.6614, look for May.  Or email them at kodandaarchery@gmail.com. You may also check their Facebook page: Kodanda Archery Range.
