It was one of my dream to do portraiture or just to even learn photography, I could say that I’m still a newbie in this side of the world and still have a lot to learn and practice more on this field. Thats why before, when I was starting, if someone asked me to do a photoshoot for them, I would willingly do it for free and to add it up on my portfolio.
Just like this one case, a close friend of mine, commercial model and tv host William Thio, commissioned me to visit his place and do a photoshoot of his dogs which is schedule to compete in the coming months. The photo’s will be use for the upcoming commemorative magazine that will be launch in the event and will contain all the dog entries of the competition.
I was asked to take some shots of his Pomeranian and French bulldog. Thou with my low self esteem and confidence to take good shots, and after hearing that this will be use in a magazine, I asked another freind and tag him along to help me do the photo session.

Here are some of the shots I took. I actually just playing around while my photog friend took the one that will be posted in the magazine. According to William there is a certain angle to shoot this dog, to show in particular the beauty of its body, the face, the tail and even how the dog stands, which I kinda really don’t understand that much.
With William’s expertise to this kinds of things, I guess he already acquired the right skill to know which dogs have the edge to win in a competition.
While doing the session, there came this very inquisitive kid whos been really eager to asked questions about the things we are doing. He was trying to asked us if he could take a shot of the dogs using our camera. He was a cute kid, hes name is Jacob, and wasn’t really that annoying that’s why we did entertain him and be friend with him along the way.
Being so happy, Jacob eagerly told us things about his father. He’s very articulate in English, (kaya medyo nag nosebleed ako!) and he even invited us to visit their studio. It was so funny that he even asked the secretary in that office which is just infront of William’s house to let us in, but we actually didn’t.
It was really entertaining talking to Jacob! He made a call with his dad and in a while, a car parked in front of us, The kid hurriedly go to the car and talk to the man driving. The car parked on the side then came Mr. Jason Magbanua! Unexpectedly, Yes! The Jason Magbanua!
Well this kid is really not fooling around! He is really the son of Jason. We were actually awed in the situation and feeling very lucky to finally meet this really great guy. Even William didn’t know this guy (Jason) is living just across the street and have a studio just in front of his house.
